Day 17
As usual, today I woke up around 6 in the morning and then I took a shower. After that I prepared myself before entering the class. Today was my first day doing the teaching practice. My class was at 10:15 AM until 11:15 AM but I had to enter the class as usual because my friend, Amir was teaching at 07:00 AM until 08:00 AM and another class was at 09:00 AM until 10:00 AM.
It was 10:15 AM and it was my time to teach. I entered the classroom and started teaching. The class was grade 9 Makiling. The material for today was oral presentation. Firstly, I tried to recall students' prior knowledge about oral presentation. I provided some questions to lead them to oral presentation. Some students raised their hand to ask a chance to answer my questions. Then I gave them chance to answer my questions. After that, I explained about oral presentation to them. Then, I gave an example of oral presentation by showing them a video and we discussed about the video. The students gave comment related to the video. Then, I asked them to make a short oral presentation and present it in front of the class. While some students were presenting their presentation, I asked the other students to pay attention to their friends and after that gave comment towards their friends' presentation. The students were quiet active in answering questions and giving comments. After that, I continued to the next material which is "The Summoning of Everyman" so here I asked the students to read the text and determine the elements of the text. Because the time is almost over, so I divided them into five groups and asked them to prepare a presentation about the elements of the text and tomorrow they will present it in front of the class, and have a discussion together. In my teaching practice, I'm trying to apply students center learning. Here is the
